The Minx and the Hutch: Metamor’s newest citizens!

Hey there, ladies and gents! It is my pleasure to announce that two more podcasters have now been granted Metamorian citizenship by the Imperial Immigration Service.
Cunning Minx is the host of the Polyamory Weekly podcast, which explores the topic of responsible non-monogamy. Her vocal work has also been featured on Escape Pod, the science fiction podcast magazine. She’ll be appearing in Episode 5, along with Mur Lafferty.
J.C. Hutchins is, of course, the author of the smash hit podcast trilogy 7th Son. “Hutch” is a big believer in the mutually-supportive nature of the podcasting community, and he volunteered for a role in The Metamor City Podcast almost as soon as he found out about it. Watch for him to appear in the first Metamor City novel, Making the Cut, which will begin airing in December; I’ll announce the episode number when we get closer to the date in question. In the meantime, be sure to check out Hutch’s website and subscribe to 7th Son; it’s one of the best SF techno-thrillers out there, and it’s free.

More guest voices to come…

Cool news, everyone: Episodes 4 and 5 of The Metamor City Podcast will feature guest voices to help bring the characters to life. I’m still working out the details on some of these, but I’m pleased to announce that Episode 5 will include an appearance by the mighty Mur Lafferty, the author of the hit podcast series Heaven and the upcoming superhero podcast novel Playing for Keeps! Mur can also be heard on her writing podcast, I Should Be Writing, and can be seen on Lulu TV in their regular feature “This Day In Alternate History.” Thanks for joining us in Metamor City, Mur!
More good stuff is on the way, folks, so watch this space…

Welcome, new listeners!

Leann pimped out the Metamor City Podcast on episode 27 of Tag in the Seam, so greetings to all of you who found your way here because of her recommendation! Lots of exciting stuff is in the works, so I hope you enjoy the ride.
For those just joining us, Episode One debuts on September 23rd, 2007. New episodes will follow every two weeks thereafter; I have planned out five episodes that will contain short stories in Metamor City, followed by the debut of the first Metamor City novel, Making the Cut. After that finishes up, sometime in 2008, I expect to go back to short stories for a while until the next big novel-length piece is ready to go out. In any case, there’s plenty of story material in the pipeline to keep me busy for a good long time. 
So once again, welcome to the City! I hope you enjoy your stay…

Quoth Leann: “157 degrees in my house…..cause I turn AC off to record…and I STILL get the job done dammit…..I kick ass. Mucho ass.”
Indeed she does! Leann, I’ll say it again: you are 31 Flavors of Pure Awesome.
Promo #1 - Morgan (and a BIG announcement!)

The first promo for The Metamor City Podcast is now ready to roll out! Major, major thanks go to Leann Mabry for providing the voice of Morgan Drauling, the sexy vampire medical examiner of Metamor City.
…aaand by now you’ve probably guessed who that special guest is that I was talking about. Yes, Episode 2 of this podcast will feature the voice talents of Leann Mabry! You may know Leann from her Parsec-nominated podcast, Tag in the Seam. Or maybe you’ve heard her voice on a little podcast novel called Billibub Baddings and the Case of the Singing Sword – it’s been tearing up the charts at Podiobooks.com, so perhaps you’ve heard of it?
Yeah, that’s what I thought.
Anyway, I am seriously jazzed to announce that Leann will be reading my story “Huntress” for Episode 2. She has busted her hump to make this happen in the midst of a lot of other crap that no human being should have to deal with, and I have to say that she has been an absolute pleasure to work with. I can’t wait until you all hear what she’s done with this story.
So, to recap the release schedule:
Episode 1 - “Welcome to the City”: September 23, 2007
Episode 2 - “Huntress”, read by Leann Mabry: October 7, 2007
Additional episodes will be released every two weeks thereafter. Until then, spread the word about Metamor City — you’ve got the first promo now, so share it with your friends, put it on your podcasts or blogs, and help get the word out!
