I really like Metamor City, and think your doing a great thing posting them as a podcast novel. Thank you for doing that. I think that there may be a problem with the itunes posts though. This chapter is only 13 minutes long and there are a number of other chapters that are only one or two minutes long.

This was an amazing story, I was blown away by the story and the reading. Both were among the best of stuff that I listen to on Escape Pod et all.

Great job, and the music really adds to the story, but sometimes it cuts out to fast and sometimes a bit loud. Atleast for my tastes.

I'm a street rat. Glad I finally have a reason to admit it.

Great work, Chris (oh yeah, the girl doing the voice wasn't bad either)!

Thanks for the wonderful comments, everyone!

Pip-- I'll admit that the question of what to call Metamor City fans is one I've been kicking around for a while, though I figured it was premature to broach the subject until I knew I actually HAD fans. :) I'm rather partial to "Street Rats," a reference to the tough and adaptable folks who live in the lower levels of the City, but I think I'll open it up to listener feedback after a few more episodes and let you all tell me what you want to be called. :)

David-- Thanks for your stamp of approval! I'm glad you like the way I'm using your music, and I will definitely continue to do so in future episodes. You can reach me at feedback@metamorcity.com.

Kaa-- Glad you liked the way I handled Morgan. I agree with you on the tendency of vampires to degrade into stereotype, and I'm glad that I've succeeded in making Morgan a character whom people can connect with. A lutin, as noted in the "About Metamor City" section of the website, is a member of a short, tough, hardy, green-skinned race that is native to the frigid northern reaches of the continent of Galendor. Lutins are a spiritual people with a deep connection to nature, but they can also be violent, greedy and superstitious. A lot of them tend to end up in gangs, which resemble the hunting parties of their tribal past. Lutins and their half-human cousins, the Breed, make up about 14% of the city's population.

Keep it on the bright side, everyone!

Zowie. This was a wonderful story, but I'll just go on record saying that I could listen to Leann Mabry reading the phone book. :) I may have to start listening to her podcast, now.

What I think made this especially enjoyable for me is that you made the vampire a person first and a vampire second; or, to put it a different way, Morgan is a person who happens to be a vampire instead of a vampire who used to be a person. Too often, all an author focuses on is the fangs, feeding, and "vamporn" and too little on the motivations behind their actions. This was wonderfully done. It could easily have devolved into "vamporn," but I'm grateful to you for not doing that. Not least of which because I finished listening to this while at work. :)

Eagerly awaiting episode 3.

P.S. What the hell is a "lutin"? :) (I'm probably mangling the spelling. And I'm sure you'll tell us in the fullness of time.)

Wonderfully read by Leann and beautifully written by Chris. You're going to make junkies and clones out of us all! (Better find a name for your fans Chris, you're going to need one)

Damn fine story, Chris, and damn fine reading Leann. I'd say "best episode yet", but, well . . . it *is* only number two. Still, well done all around.
