Next time on The Metamor City Podcast:
Brian, Fiona, Sasha and Callie have cooked up a plan to steal the mysterious data that the vampires smuggled into Metamor City. They can’t do it alone, though, so they turn to the one ally they have left in the Hive power structure: Elder Miriam Bakhtavar. See you in two weeks!

This chapter reminded me a lot of Joss Whedon’s stuff. I loved it! Artax is a great character; I hope he shows up a bit more while investigating Danni’s issues…
I thought Danni’s problem might have something to do with Victor, because I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. How come Victor lets Daniel/Danni live? Even before he picked Daniel as a partner for the smuggling run, he must have known the hive would be interested. When the hive asked Victor to recommend a team to acquire the package (unclear whether that is before or after Victor recruited Daniel), Victor even knew who to expect. He must have had a pretty good idea who he killed, and must have known exactly who he ordered Callie to kill.
All this should mean that Victor can hardly rely on Daniel’s silence. Victor must expect Daniel to realize Victor killed fellow spookies, and even if Daniel had not understood this at the time, Victor must expect a reaction when Daniel either hears of the bodies being identified or if he hears some details from his friends in Brian’s breeding cell. As the story has gone so far, Daniel got only minimal information about the raid from his friends, and perhaps Victor relies on “need to know” limiting what Daniel can find out. He still must have expected Daniel to find out more than he actually did. If Callie had obeyed the order to kill Fiona, wouldn’t Daniel have tracked her down to find out why she killed, and realized Victor was killing spookies not just in the heat of the moment? That should have made clear to Daniel that Victor is a continuing danger to psis and might have been enough to overcome his fear of the hive’s reaction.
That Victor has done nothing to silence Daniel shows either unexpected sentimentality for someone otherwise so ruthless, or stupidity, or extreme confidence. Only the last seems in character, but so far we don’t know how Victor could be that confident of accurately predicting Daniel’s reaction.
Hey Wondering. Just wanted to say that I don’t think this story will end without all loose ends tied up. Remember a few episodes back when Brian and the rest of his cell hired Callie for a mission? We’ve yet to see the outcome of that story line. Which leads me to conclude that the story is only about half way through. Maybe not even that far. I’m sure in time we’ll all learn what eventually happens to every character.
Lester…it’s me.
Remember what I told you about raising the bar?! You’re doing it again. I told you how much this displeases me.
DO NOT TEMPT THE WRATH OF THE UBER-NEMESIS!!!
(Hell of an episode, bro! Seriously. You’re kicking ass and taking names! Keep it up, Chris!)
*ahem*
I’m watching you, Lester…
Always…
…watching…
…you.
P.S. The “Because I’m a Wizard” moment = Comedy Gold. I could easily see the smirk on Bryan’s face when it happened. *LOL* Rawk!
Yup, gotta agree with Tee (he’s not paying me to) this was a great epsiode. And that promo for that new podcast novel sounds good. I highly reccomend it to anyone.
