World Building

My first worship song. The lyrics and melody for the chorus came to me in the shower one day; after I got out, I got my guitar and figured out the chords, then put together a set of chords for the verse that sounded like they would go well with it. I didn’t have any words for the verses at that point; just a chord progression with a set number of measures. The rest of the lyrics came to me the following day while I was doing menial, repetitive tasks at work.

The song has become popular with the member of our little house-church, and a friend of mine who is a worship pastor in California asked for a copy of the music and a recording. Maybe I’ll come back to Cali some day and find out that others are using it, too.
