Bonus: Interview with Tale Chasing, Part 1

Posted by Raven on 15 May 2008 | Tagged as: Interview

Kimi Alexandre of Tale Chasing sat down with me for a great conversation about Metamor City, urban fantasy, the craft of writing, and why we crazy authors do what we do. We had so much fun that we had to break the interview up into two parts to make it all fit.  :)

I’ll post part 2 tomorrow. For now, enjoy the first half of the interview!

The following were referenced during the interview — big thanks to Kimi for hunting down all the links:

Bonus: The Longest Interview EVER! :)

Posted by Raven on 10 May 2008 | Tagged as: Interview

John Hollywood (www.xanga.com/briarsxinxmyxsoul) sat down with me recently for a very thoughtful, in-depth interview with lots of insightful questions.

Unfortunately, we were plagued with the Skype Connection From Hell, so we had numerous stops and starts before finally giving up and recording our questions and answers separately. What resulted was an interview that I hope was worth all of the effort we both put into it. :) Enjoy!

Warning: John’s blog is rated for adults-only, so the intro sequence is designed to scare away anyone who might be offended by anything he discusses on his show. Our actual conversation was much more PG-rated. :)

Bonus - Interview with Wander Radio (WNDR #27)

Posted by Raven on 26 Apr 2008 | Tagged as: Interview

Continuing my virtual press junket as we head toward Balticon, I had a great chat with Jack Hosley of Wander Radio (109.9 WNDR, almost on your radio dial!). Listen as he asks me about blending genres, podcasting while writing, working with a small army of voice actors, and where I see the world of podcasting going in the future…

Interview with John Scalzi now up at ISBW!

Posted by Raven on 01 Mar 2008 | Tagged as: Interview, Announcements

Hey, folks! The interview that I did with John Scalzi at High Voltage ConFusion is now up at I Should Be Writing, Mur Lafferty’s “podcast for wannabe fiction writers by a wannabe fiction writer.” I had a lot of fun with this one — John is a very funny human being — and I think you’ll have a lot of fun listening to it.

ISBW Special Episode #29: Interview with John Scalzi

This is the second interview I’ve done for ISBW — in case you missed it, the first was in Special Episode #26, when I interviewed Kim Harrison. Her latest book, The Outlaw Demon Wails, is now available in hardcover and unabridged audiobook, so go out and get your copy today!

Bonus - Interview with Better Late Than Never (BL8TN #23)

Posted by Raven on 03 Jan 2008 | Tagged as: Interview, Podcast Episodes

Another interview! MA in PA, who plays Rebecca Brower in MAKING THE CUT, invited me onto her show Better Late Than Never to discuss the world of Metamor and the upcoming novel. We covered a very different set of material from what Steve and I talked about on Geek Cred, so it’s still worth listening to this one if you’ve heard the first (and vice versa).

Promos and Feedback:

Playing For Keeps
Into the Blender
Abuse the Muse

Opening and closing music from Peanut Butter and Julie.  If you want to leave feedback for MA, you can send e-mail to mainthepa at gmail.com or send voicemail to (206) 338-3942.

Thanks again to MA for having me on the show. If you aren’t subscribed to Better Late Than Never, head on over to http://www.bl8tn.net and sign up — MA does a fun show, with lots of geeky chat about entertainment gems both old and new. Then come back here on January 13th to hear MA’s debut as Rebecca in MAKING THE CUT!

Keep it on the bright side!

Steve Riekeberg interviewed Chris Lester about The Metamor City Podcast for his  show Geek Cred. Listen to Chris talk about the origins of Metamor City, the philosophy of writing, and some of the themes and ideas behind the upcoming novel, MAKING THE CUT!

Special thanks to Steve for offering to do this interview — Skype problems notwithstanding, it was a lot of fun. :)

Interview with Kim Harrison now up at ISBW!

Posted by Raven on 25 Oct 2007 | Tagged as: Interview, Announcements

Hey, folks! The interview that I did with Kim Harrison at ConClave 32 is now up at I Should Be Writing, Mur Lafferty’s “podcast for wannabe fiction writers by a wannabe fiction writer.”  I had the honor of being the Guest Wannabe for this week’s episode, as I talked to Kim about the craft and business of writing.

I Should Be Writing, Special Episode #26

Go check out the episode, and subscribe to ISBW while you’re at it. Mur provides a lot of great advice for writers on how to stay motivated and get past the hurdles that we all face as aspiring authors. I mostly credit this podcast for getting me to start writing again after three years of doing almost nothing with my fiction — you wouldn’t be listening to this podcast if it weren’t for her.  :)

Keep it on the bright side!
